JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Evaluating the nutritional value, colour, flavour and texture of food
2. Testing food samples for particular types of moulds, yeast and bacteria that may be harmful
3. Ensuring that food manufacturing processes conform with government, processing, consumer and industry standards
4. Exploring alternative manufacturing methods
5. Designing processes and machinery for the production of recipes on a large scale
6. Liaising with marketing staff
7. Ensuring that strict hygiene food safety standards are met
8. Identifying and choosing products from suppliers
9. Monitoring the use of additives
10. Testing and examining samples
11. Producing new food products
12. Investigating and setting standards for safety and quality
13. Generating new product ideas and recipes
14. Modifying and improving existing recipes
15. Writing reports.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
Requirements and Qualification

1. Candidate must be a graduate of Food Science and Technology and have experience in Food processing at least 2 years
2. Knowledge of a range of sciences and their applications to food
3. Meticulous attention to detail, particularly with regard to health, safety and hygiene
4. Good communication skills
5. Strong team working skills
6. Good business, IT, analytical and numerical abilities
7. Being a confident independent worker
