ABOUT THE COMPANY

  In collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking prospective candidates for the anticipated Prevention of Spread of COVID-19 Pandemic through Awareness Raising and Livelihoods Support for Adolescent Girls and Boys in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

The positions are local positions and are open to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.


JOB DESCRIPTIONS

1. In accordance with the American University of Nigeria Bye-Laws (2020), the University Librarian is a Principal Officer, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and coordination of ALL Library Services in the University
2. The University Librarian is a member of the University Management Committee
3. As an Academic Staff, the University Librarian will be required to provide both academic and administrative leadership to staff members in the University Library.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
Qualifications and Experience

1. Applicants for the post of University Librarian, American University of Nigeria should possess:
2. Ph.D. in Library Science or related field with fifteen (15) years University experience;
3. Possession of several scholarly publications, administrative experience and ability to provide academic leadership;
4. Candidate must have served for NOT less than five(S) years at the level of Deputy University Librarian in a University or comparable institution
5. Knowledge of ICT is mandatory;
6. Membership of the relevant professional association is mandatory.

Age Requirement:

1. Candidates for the positions of University Librarian must not be above the age of sixty-one (61) years by June 2020.

Tenure

1. In consonance with the American University of Nigeria Bye-Laws (2020), the appointment of Registrar is for a term of five (5) years respectively.

Remuneration

1. Remuneration of the University Librarian, American University of Nigeria is competitive, in line with the American University of Nigeria benefits and allowances, as may be approved by the Governing Council of the American University of Nigeria.
