MdM operating in Nigeria, Borno state since October 2016.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
  1. Under the supervision of the Medical Supervisor, the Roving Medical Doctor will be responsible for the following main activities in order to ensure the quality of care in the mobile clinics:
  2. Provision of free of charge curative health consultations
  3. Admission, weekly medical follow-up and discharge of the malnourished children in OTP program
  4. Collection, computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data
  5. Reporting and attendance to different meetings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provision of free of charge curative health consultations:
  2. Prepare all the necessary drugs, material and equipment for mobile clinics and ensure that everything is ready before to leave MdM office
  3. Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene when performing curative health consultations
  4. Participate actively in triage activities before to start curative health consultations.
  5. Perform curative consultations.
  6. Take a proper medical history including:
  7. Reason for consultation
  8. Duration of the illness or complaints
  9. Main symptoms
  10. Past medical history and treatment.
  11. Perform a correct physical examination:
  12. Inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation
  13. Systematic checking of signs of severity
  14. Diagnose and treat the diseases according to protocols in use (i.e. clinical guidelines)
  15. Write the most important complaints, signs, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment on the patient's registration form.
  16. Explain the treatment to the patient
  17. Give individual health education related to the patient's disease
  18. Manage emergency cases according to MdM protocols and regulation
  19. Fill in the registration form for each patient, according to the diagnosis of the morbidity surveillance form
  20. Check the immunization status for all EPI targeted children and referred the unvaccinated children to the vaccinator
  21. Investigate any information regarding unusual health events or diseases outbreak, provided through any source
  22. Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and treat all the patients with respect and dignity.
  23. Admission, weekly medical follow-up and discharge of the malnourished children in OTP program:
  24. Ensure that all the 6-59 months children have been screened (MUAC, H/W and edemas)
  25. Admit new cases in OTP program according to the criteriaТs of national nutrition protocol and give systematic treatment for SAM cases
  26. Ensure weekly follow up of SAM cases and adapt RUTF doses
  27. Discharge cases according to the criteriaТs of national nutrition protocol
  28. Refer complicated SAM cases to identified Stabilization Center
  29. Fill in the specific OTP form
  30. Collection, computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data:
  31. Perform the daily data collection regarding curative consultations
  32. Participate to the weekly computerization and analysis of the medical data.
  33. Reporting and attendance to different meetings:
  34. Prepare a weekly activities report to submit to team leader
  35. Participate in a pro-active way to MdM internal meetings (medical, security Е)
  36. Participate to all the trainings organized by MDM.

Others:
  1. Give suggestions to improve the functioning of MDM mobile clinics
  2. Participate to the loading and unloading of the vehicles and to the setting up of the mobile clinics
  3. Participate to weekly physical inventory of mobile clinic pharmacy
  4. Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are getting good quality services
  5. Perform other additional duties on request of the team leader
  6. Inform immediately the security focal point in case of any security problem in the field.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
  1. Qualified and Registered National Medical Doctor from a recognized university with a valid practicing license from Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Work Experience:
  1. At least 2 years of progressive work experience with similar role as a Mobile clinic physician.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the INGO systems and structure.
  3. Previous work with humanitarian organizations is added plus.
