ABOUT THE COMPANY

   The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.




JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Competitions Safety & Security Manager who can contribute to CAF’s overall success by effectively handling the following duties:
2. Responsible for the preparation of all competitions related safety and security documents
3. Monitor all in- country risk assessment and report on potential high risk countries with impact on CAF competitions / matches
4. Liaise with member associations on competitions safety and security related operations for CAF organized matches
5. Coordinate the activities of all national security officer in relation to competition specific
6. Liaise with all national security officers on matters relating to competition safety and security
7. Responsible for writing reports on competitions safety and security
8. Liaise with competitions to identify and classify high risk matches and report same to Head of safety and security
9. Link between the safety and security department and competitions department on matters of competitions safety and security
10. Monitor the safety and security related in country assessment and identify MA’s with serious need for an intervention programme
11. Liaise with CAF safety and security officers on behalf of the department
12. Monitor and follow-up on all competitions related safety and security components
13. Compile end of seasons incidents reports for CAF confederation cup and Champions League
14. Read all submitted reports by CAF safety and security officers and summarize key findings for the attention of Head of safety and security
15. Liaise with club licensing in developing specific competitions related safety and security requirements for stadiums
16. Ensure the collation of all safety certificates of all stadiums to be used for all CAF matches and tournaments
17. Participate in competitions safety and security related workshops and trainings
18. Coordinate safety and security meetings with security agencies
19. Carry out any other function as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of safety and security

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB

1. A minimum of first degree in any field (A sport related field shall be added advantage)
2. Certificate in sport safety and security or any safety and security
3. Proven experience in football match organization safety and security
4. Fluent in both spoken and written English and French
5. Computer literate
