    Afordonz Consulting Limited - Our client who specializes in Real Estate and Facilities Management is recruiting to fill the position Design and Value Engineering Manager



JOB DESCRIPTIONS

1. The required candidate would be required to carry out review of all engineering designs/drawings spanning across architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, water, sewage and power to ensure they meet with standards and specifications.
2. To also carry oversight inspections to all our sites to ensure what are specified on the designs/drawings are well represented on site.
3. To also render advisory, consultancy and training services to external clients in the area of civil, water, sewage and environmental management.
4. To help optimize cost using multi-objective decision/scenarios and to help monitor that practical/design quality assurance and control/administrative quality assurance are in conformity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To review all engineering designs/drawings from our consultants such as architectural, structural, urban drainages, roads, mechanical/electrical to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
2. To carry out site inspections to ensure all engineering designs and drawings specifications are represented on site as specified.
3. To carry out cost optimization by reviewing all conceptual designs using multi-objective decisions so as to know the best alternative scenario to undertake.
4. To render engineering services spanning across civil, water, sewage and environmental waste management in form of professional advisory and consultancy.
5. To render professional engineering training services to clients spanning across civil, water, sewage and environmental waste management so as to increase the company profit margin.
6. To assist the R2 department in reviewing their drawings and to give professional advices where necessary.
7. To render in-house engineering design services to external clients by adopting building information modelling BIM so as to boost the profitability index of the company.
8. To give in-house training to members of my team and other staffs in my area of specialty.
9. To work with the QMS department to ensure administrative quality assurance and control are in conformance with practical/design quality assurance and control
10. To represent the company in engineering forums so as to bring modern engineering trends to the company.
11. To attend consultants meeting so as to discuss area of improvement in term of design and engineering services to them.
12. To ensure engineering design HSE related issues are handle appropriately and close out.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB

1. B. Sc. / HND in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or related field
2. Membership with relevent professional bodies will be an added advantage
3. Minimum of 5 years experience
4. Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality
5. Working knowledge of equipment and systems
