JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Engineer - Benchmark and Measurement at MTN Nigeria, you will be responsible for network benchmarking and measurements to provide visibility into the performance of MTN's network against competitors. Your role includes analyzing network indicators, generating comparative analysis reports, and recommending solutions to optimize network performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and escalate areas with network coverage issues and service faults to avoid revenue loss.
• Manage and analyze benchmark drive tests for QoS/QoE measurements conducted by third-party vendors.
• Generate and report on comparative analysis from vendors’ drive test activities.
• Measure and report end-user perceived service quality to drive an improved experience.
• Collaborate with the Radio Planning and Optimization team to resolve radio-related issues promptly.
• Follow up on network complaints to ensure faster resolution of service quality issues.
• Ensure improvement in the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer experience index as agreed by the business.
• Engage with Managed Service Vendors to enhance customer experience.
• Liaise with the Customer Experience team on network-related components of the NPS.
• Report on network performance analysis and trending to relevant units for necessary actions.
• Investigate network-related exceptions and provide recommendations for QoE/QoS improvement.
• Coordinate competitive networking benchmarking test analysis and ensure MTN Nigeria’s competitive edge.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Education:
  • First Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • An MSc or M.Eng. is an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English.
• Experience:
  • 3–7 years’ experience in an area of specialization, preferably in a medium-sized organization.
  • Experience in 2G and 3G radio optimization.
  • Expertise in network performance analysis, trending, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of LTE optimization and multi-vendor experience is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in 2G and 3G drive test analysis and reporting using TEMS investigation and discovery software; LTE drive test knowledge is an added advantage.
