ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Auchi Polytechnic is a renowned Federal Polytechnic established in 1973, focused on technology-based education and skill development. The institution has three campuses located along the Benin-Auchi-Okene Highway.

Auchi Polytechnic is inviting applications for the position of Polytechnic Librarian, which will become vacant on 18th December 2024 and 30th January 2025. The Polytechnic Librarian will be the Chief Library Officer, responsible for the administration and coordination of the Polytechnic’s library services. The role requires a candidate with proven library management experience, leadership qualities, and a passion for academic endeavors.

JOB DETAILS
The Polytechnic Librarian is one of the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic and will:

• Oversee the administration of the Polytechnic Library.
• Coordinate library services across the teaching units.
• Report to the Rector on all library matters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science; a Ph.D. is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum second class lower) or HND (minimum lower credit) in Library Science or Library and Information Science.
• Minimum of 18 years of cognate experience in tertiary institutions, with at least 10 years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution.
• Current rank as a Chief Librarian with at least 5 years’ experience at this level.
• Demonstrated academic and administrative leadership.
• Membership in a recognized professional body.
• Evidence of scholarly publications and conference participation.
• Not more than 59 years old as of 30/01/2025.
• Proficiency in ICT.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

• Appointment for a single tenure of five years.
• Consolidated salary and benefits per Federal Government guidelines for Principal Officers.
