JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to oversee and implement AFC’s programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead project planning, execution, and monitoring while driving strategic partnerships, securing funding, and managing a diverse team to achieve organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Management: Supervise and implement AFC's existing programs, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Lead planning, monitoring, and coordination of new initiatives.
  • Proposal Writing & Fundraising: Identify funding opportunities, write proposals, and collaborate on budget development. Maintain strong donor relationships.
  • Partner Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners. Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify new opportunities.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the programs team, ensuring collaboration and productivity. Conduct performance evaluations and professional development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent AFC at meetings and events, promoting the organization’s mission and programs.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare timely project reports and ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the organization’s strategic plans and develop new program areas aligned with AFC’s mission.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Development, Project Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of program management experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven success in grant writing and securing funding.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Africa’s agribusiness and food systems is an advantage.
